Welcome to the g ceramic & co. blog! I am SUPER excited to share this experience with you. For me, food has been a learning experience.
Throughout university I would throw dinner parties for my friends, with themes for each occasion. There was a pie party, with vegetarian and vegan pot pie, and sweet pies for dessert (I went through a LOT of butter.) There was a tea party with pastries, cookies, and sandwiches. BBQ party with caramelized onion and crispy caper potato salad -maybe we’ll revisit that one later. And of course, all the holidays. One of my favourites was the Christmas I decided to do Turkey meatloaf instead of the traditional bird. It was delicious, but ended up -after a few glasses of wine- with me throwing a blazing ball of meatloaf out the window.
This is my journey adventuring the in and betweens of being gluten & dairy free, to croissants and eggs benedicts. While I have always been sensitive to gluten & dairy, after spending two weeks on a total body detox I have determined that I am definitely intolerant. However, I love butter. And gluten. So while you will mostly see recipes here that are four hour body or paleo-esque you will catch glimpses of concoctions that satisfy your cheat day cravings.
Furthermore the whole point of all this is to showcase my love of ceramics. The dinnerware featured here is made by me, or fellow ceramists I love and appreciate greatly. My ceramic studio is nestled in the heart of White Rock, where I work seaside in my studio & kitchen. Side by side, my creative impulses are satiated through daily adventures of food & clay. This blog is about working smart and playing hard: whether it’s in your career; at the gym; with your hobbies; or in the kitchen.
I hope you enjoy this journey, and investigate your own culinary and ceramics adventures!
